Help is needed with handling and processing Lantern Award entries for the SPRF 2010 Conference, which will be held Baton Rouge, LA in September. ECPRO is tasked with this job. Jean Dutton has volunteered to receive the entries at her house and process the entry fees. We have secured judges in Tallahassee and Joe Purka has volunteered to accompany the entries to the judging. We need to work on the Call for Entries with categories and instructions on how to prepare the entry package. This will be done primarily on the web, but we are also planning a post card mailing. After the judging, lists will need to be made of the winners, certificates prepared, awards ordered, a video produced to be used the night of the banquet and a booklet listing the winners for the SPRF Conference Banquet. If you can help with any of the above, please let President Ardelle Bush know.

In order to make it more affordable for students to attend the meetings, the lunch price has been dropped to $10 for full-time students; however, members can sponsor a student lunch by paying the $10. If you want to sponsor a student lunch, please contact Maddie Fricano at 729-6467 or

If you are promoting an event or cause, please take advantage of
the resource table available at our meetings and place your

An announcement about the event can be made for the small fee of
$1, which will be added to the Student Media Competition funds.

A drawing for a “free lunch for a guest” is available for members who wear their ECPRO pins to the meetings. There is a separate container for pin wearers’ business cards at the sign-in table.
