Public Relations Professionals
Emerald Coast Public Relations Organization (ECPRO) is a
professional organization that fosters an interest in the public
relations field; encourages professional development for those
employed in the public relations field; maintains a high degree
of standards and ethics in the performance of public relations
tasks; offers instruction for accreditation. ECPRO was formed in 1992 and is a member of the

ECPRO members are civic minded and contribute to the local community in a number of ways. One of the organization’s main endeavors is the sponsorship of the Student Public Relations and Media Competition for students in Okaloosa and Walton counties. A foundation has been established to accept tax deductible donations/sponsorships. For more information about the competition

Congratulations to Sabrina McLaughlin and Leda Broxson of Insight Marketing Communications for receiving two Lantern Awards, an Award of
Excellence and a Certificate of Merit from the Southern Public Relations
Federation (SPRF).
Insight Marketing Communications, Inc. received the program’s highest honor in the “Total Research Program” category for the Gulf Coast Community College Marketing Research, as well as in the “Organizational Identity” category for the Image Printing Spice Box. The firm also received an award of excellence in the “Organizational Identity” category for the
Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center Logo and a Certificate of Merit for an article written by McLaughlin, “Advertising Meet PR, PR Meet Advertising.”

Also recognized at the SPRF conference were Kathy Newby, ECPRO President Ken Hair and Dr. Randy Bobbitt, APR. All received the senior practitioner designation, which was established to honor SPRF members who are recognized by their peers as veteran public relations professionals with high ethical standing. Nomination and selection is made by each local chapter based on criteria set by the Federation.

This year’s SPRF Conference was hosted by ECPRO and held at Sandestin. Thanks to all the committee members, and especially to Chair Joe Purka, for all the time and hard work given to make the conference a success.
